Member of the month – Nicole Rüegg
Dear CrossFit Wädenswil Community,
Today we have the honor of presenting our Member of the Month for May. This person not only embodies dedication and commitment, but also inspires us all with her presence and tireless commitment to the community. It gives us great pleasure to introduce our Member of the Month for this month: Nicole!
Nicole is not only an incredible athlete, but also a loving mother of two wonderful girls. Despite her busy schedule, she always finds time to get involved in our box. Her dedication and determination are infectious, and she motivates us all to give our best.
In addition to her own training, Nicole is always willing to help and support other members. Their positive attitude and team spirit make them a valuable part of our community.
Let’s all thank Nicole for her passion, dedication and kindness. She is a good example of what it means to be part of the CrossFit Wädenswil family.
Congratulations, Nicole, you deserve to be in the spotlight!
- Why CrossFit Wädenswil?
As Sandro was already training in Wädenswil, no other box was an option for me. That was the best decision. The quality of the coaches and classes are incredibly good! I also always felt very well looked after during my injuries. I’m very happy to accept the slightly longer journey.
- How long have you been training with us?
I started Crossfit in the fall of 2021.
- What motivates you most to come to CrossFit training regularly?
The lovely people I got to know in Wädi and have since become friends, my mind which needs the training as a balance, the good body feeling which the training leaves behind and the certainty of being fit through everyday life and hopefully into old age.
- What personal goals are you pursuing in CrossFit and how are you working to achieve them?
I was probably a bit more ambitious at the beginning. After a few injuries, mainly as a result of too little regeneration, my focus is currently on constant training. Knowing which movements need to be scaled helps me to maintain this consistency and sometimes leave the ego at the door.
- How has your fitness journey evolved over time since you started CrossFit?
When I started doing sport again after my two children, a hike on our local mountain was an almost impossible task for me. I now do this hike on a relaxed evening, which shows me every time anew that it’s worth keeping fit. Feeling fit is fun and makes life easier.
- What other hobbies or interests do you have besides CrossFit?
My favorite way to spend my free time is hiking in the mountains with family and friends. This replenishes my heart and energy reserves time and time again. I also really enjoy brunch and long walks with my friends.
- What is your favorite CrossFit exercise and why?
My favorite is pull ups, it’s the only gymnastic movement that really suits me. Clean and Jerks, Snatches and Devill Press also make me happy.
- What tips would you give other members who are just starting out with CrossFit?
Never give up and don’t be put off by the sore muscles at the beginning, it gets better… at least sometimes
- What are your favorite moments or memories from your time in our CrossFit community?
The feeling, especially after an open workout or after a lift, of having achieved more than initially thought and sharing the joy of it with others. Because by pushing the community in particular, a lot more is possible than if you have to fight your inner bastard on your own.
- Is there a particular quote or motto that inspires you in CrossFit or in life in general?
No specific one, but I have learned that “Trust the Process” works in many areas and is a good companion through life.
