Member of the month – Estefania Riccardi

Introducing… well, actually, no need for introductions because everyone already knows her. Our loudest, most outgoing box star – Estafania! We LOVE her for always bringing that next-level positive energy into every single class. Whether she’s crushing a workout or sneaking in a salsa break (we see you dancing to that Latino music mid-squat, Estafania), she’s always making us smile.

Honestly, what can we even say? You probably know her life story from her birth until now but one thing is for sure – this gym wouldn’t be the same without her!

Keep shining and never change Estafania!

  1. What or who brought you to CrossFit Wädenswil?

Before I moved to Switzerland, I started my relentless search for crossfit in the area lol. I started to find out a bit about the ones that were close by and Wädenswil caught my attention as the website was very well done (I always pay attention to these details). Plus the comments and reviews. Always make sure you are well informed about these kinds of decisions lol.

  1. In three words, how would you describe yourself to a stranger?

Shy hahaha, actually I think what best describes me is that I am an outgoing, empathetic and energetic person (except on Sundays, not energy at all)

  1. What CrossFit gear you can’t live without?

The Jump Rope. I love jumping rope. I love double unders, singles, crossovers, and doing different moves with it like boxers. I have spent many years trying to improve these movements and I feel that without the jump rope crossfit would not be the same hahaha. Another gear is grips, without them my hands would be in pain.

  1. If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose and why?

I don’t think I’d like to change for anyone, but for curiosity I’d probably be with a person with a very fast metabolism and who could eat a lot in one day without any problem hahaha.

  1. What do you like the most about CrossFit Wädenswil that keeps you coming back?

The atmosphere in the box, my teammates and the coaches.
I came here, having just moved from other countries which are totally different from Switzerland with other cultures and I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be easy to gain people’s trust and create that bond and atmosphere, especially for a person like me who might think I’m a bit crazy at first.
The welcome was amazing, the kindness of my partners and the coaches from the beginning is something I will always be grateful to Wädi for, as it is not easy for anyone to migrate to a totally new country.

Another thing I love about the box is the motivation of the coaches, they push you to get better even if you are doing thrusters and burpees at the same time.

  1. What’s your favorite type of music or song to work out to?

Well… I think a lot of people know this… Latin music or Wik playlist (Linkin Park is also great or this techno music latin mix).

  1. What is the next place on your travel bucket list?

I hope it will be Iceland and if I have a budget left after that, the Philippines.

  1. Do you remember your first workout at CrossFit Wädenswil? How was it?

Of course. It was a trial with my dear Wiktoria. I really loved the level of coaching.
I remember I was dying, thinking about the level of cardio and strength that these Viking people have hahahaha and that somehow I had to find a way to keep up with them hahaha.
Immediately after that class I told Wiktoria that I was going to sign up.

  1. If you could have dinner with any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

With Keanu Reeves. With him I could obviously talk about my favorite movies (John Wick) but above all, because of his philosophy of life and his humility. He is one of the most respected celebrities for his simplicity. When I went to New York , I wanted to meet him on the subway, but I couldn’t hahaha.

  1. Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know yet…

I’m terrified of spiders and I didn’t know there were so many here in Switzerland hehehe and I’m addicted to stories about serial killers.

Thank you so much for this great interview.
We are so happy to have you in the Wädi community!
